We designed and built a temporary pavilion at Frihamnen in the very center of Gothenburg, Sweden. The pavilion encompasses our ideas for how we could have both a greater outreach to the cities population as well as create a pedagogical space close to the waters edge. We crowdfunded and constructed the structure ourselves, and have used the space to facilitate various events from pedagogical summer activities for kids, to lunch time DJ sets.
above//below was a project aimed at revitalizing Gothenburg harbor by fabricating habitat structures underwater while also creating a space above the surface to facilitate ecological stewardship. Misc.Lab conducted and completed this pilot project with the help of Älvstranden utveckling, Passalen, Gothenburg University, and IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute.
